Is it the selection of 1st priming's, the aging of fillers or the lack thereof, the grade of tobacco, growth geology?

MAJOR NUTRIENTS IN THE SOIL:

DETERMINANTS OF ASH COLOR:
  • Nitrogen
  • Phosphorus
  • Potassium
  • Calcium
  • Magnesium

Calcium is one of the chief elements in the ash of a cigar. And it’s the mineral most responsible for producing a light colored ash. Too little calcium and the ash will be darker.

Potassium is another principal element in the ash of a cigar and it can affect the burn and color of the ash if it is not present in optimal amounts.
